Every Lucasta candle is hand-poured, making each one unique. Please allow for slight variations between pours and colors as a result.
What does Lucasta mean and how is it pronounced?
Lucasta was a nickname poet Richard Lovelace gave to the woman he loved (Lucy) in the late 1600's. It means "pure light." At Lucasta Candles, it's pronounced "loo ka sta."
What's with vanilla?
Lucasta owner Danielle lost her biggest inspiration - her mom - due to breast cancer. Vanilla was one of her mother's favorite scents, and, as an honor to her, there is at least one drop of pure vanilla essential oil in each candle.
What type of wax is used in Lucasta candles?
Most of our candles are made with pure, organic soy wax. You may notice a crystalization (frosting) on top of your candle: this is normal - it's a natural reaction of organic soy wax. Our luxe line is coconut wax. Our coconut wax is mixed with soy wax to ensure sturdiness of our candles. 100% coconut wax has a low melting point, making it trickier to ship. Parrafin wax may be used in some novelty candles. Each candle description will tell you which wax is used.
What's the difference between paraffin, soy, and coconut wax?
Paraffin wax is widely used - even with the big name candle makers - because of its lower cost and durability. It is a petroleum by-product that emits toxins and soot when burned. Organic soy wax emits a lot less toxins and very little soot. It's made from soybean oil. Coconut wax is comparable to organic soy wax but it burns slightly cleaner and has even less soot.
When will I receive my order?
Shipping options are available at checkout. Standard orders will be shipped within 3 business days. Custom orders will need approximately one week for processing before they're shipped.

Why are there tiny bubbles in my candle?
Air bubbles may occur when the wax cools inside the holder as it cures. This is a common reaction but we try to limit the occurrence.
