What does Lucasta mean and how is it pronounced?
Lucasta was a nickname the poet Richard Lovelace gave to the woman he loved (Lucy) in the late 1600s. The name means "pure light."
At Lucasta Candles, we pronounce it loo-KAH-sta.

What are your candles made of?
We use high-quality wax suited to each product type.
Most Lucasta candles and wax melts are made with natural soy wax. Our Signature Collection uses a premium coconut apricot wax blend, while sculpted or specialty candles use either beeswax or a pillar wax blend, depending on the design.
Each product listing clearly states the wax used so you always know exactly what you're purchasing.
Do you offer unscented candles?
Yes! Our Lucasta Pure Unscented Candle is a clean, fragrance-free option perfect for sensitive spaces, dinners, or layering alongside other scents.
What's the difference between paraffin, soy, and coconut apricot wax?
Different candle waxes have different characteristics and benefits.
Paraffin wax is widely used because it is inexpensive and provides strong scent throw, but it is petroleum-derived and can produce more soot.
Soy wax is plant-based and made from soybean oil. It burns cleaner and slower than paraffin and is ideal for container candles and wax melts.
Coconut apricot wax is a premium blend known for its smooth appearance, clean burn, and excellent fragrance performance. It's often used in luxury candles for its refined finish and consistency.

Why is there frosting on my candle?
Frosting is a natural characteristic of soy wax. It can appear as a white, crystallized pattern as the wax cools.
It's purely cosmetic and does not affect performance.
Why are there small bubbles in my candle?
Small air bubbles can form as wax cools and cures. This is normal for hand-poured candles and does not affect how your candle burns or smells.
How long do your candles burn?
Burn times vary by size and style. Estimated burn times are listed on each product page.
Are Lucasta candles handmade?
Yes. Every Lucasta candle and wax melt is hand-poured in small batches.
Because they are crafted by hand, slight variations in color or appearance may occur. These are a natural part of the process and do not affect performance.

Why should I trim my wick?
Trim the wick to about ¼ inch before each burn. This helps prevent soot, uneven burning, and large flames.
Why did my candle tunnel?
Tunneling happens when a candle isn't burned long enough the first time.
Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the container during the first burn to create an even melt pool.
How should I store wax melts?
Store wax melts in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve fragrance and prevent softening.

How do I use Silk Melts?
Place one or two cubes in a wax warmer. Once melted, allow the oil to cool slightly before applying to skin.
Are Silk Melts safe for skin?
They are made with skin-safe ingredients. We recommend testing a small amount first and discontinuing use if irritation occurs.
Can I use Silk Melts like a regular wax melt?
They are designed for use on the skin. While they can be melted in a warmer, they are not intended as a traditional home fragrance product.
